Majorcan Courtyard “Plaza Almez”

The Plaza Almez is the heart of the finca. In Majorca, life takes place out of doors in the summer, so that the Majorcan courtyard is the centre of life at the finca.
The surrounding buildings give the plaza its flair, which is so typical of the country, and a protected setting. At the side, the courtyard opens on to the adjoining extensive garden areas and connects the olive grove with the playground, the hammock meadow and the event rooms.
A large, old tree in the middle of the courtyard provides shade and gives the courtyard an incomparably cosy character.
Whether as the main attraction of your event or as a supplementary element: the courtyard at Finca Sa Canova is exactly the right location for many event concepts. From the gala dinner in the open air to the relaxed cocktail reception, a cosy barbecue evening, an open air concert and the party area, the Plaza Almez is ideal for turning your ideas into reality.
Ideal additions to your event at the plaza are the Verbena hall, which can be used as an additional or even alternative venue when it is raining, as well as the covered Sambuca terrace. This borders on the courtyard on the southern side and connects it effectively with the garden areas.
“Sambuca” Covered Terrace

At the southern end of the plaza there is illuminated, covered outdoor seating. The ideal atmosphere for a sit-down meal in a small setting, as the covered terrace ensures that such an event has a cosy atmosphere. In addition to the courtyard, the outdoor seating often serves as a location for the buffet or the DJ, but is also frequently used as a lounge area.
The Sambuca terrace connects the courtyard with the garden: Rich green meadows and inviting hammocks on the one side, the typical Majorcan plaza under the shadow of old trees on the other – and in between the cosy outdoor seating with its rustic, Mediterranean ambiance.
A typical Majorcan wood-burning stove is integrated into the covered terrace and is used for the live cooking of island dishes that are typical of the country. An authentic treat with event character!
Garden Areas
Sa Canova is surrounded by green nature. The area of the finca covers four hectares of land and is continuously cultivated. Not only extensive olive groves, orange and almond trees, but also medicinal plants grow on the site. Stroll around and discover the beauty of Majorcan fauna! The medicinal plants garden is also home to many herbs and reveals interesting details at every corner about the medical and culinary use of the respective plant. As a result, a simple walk becomes a journey of discovery through the botanical gene database of Majorca – for this is the precise purpose why Sa Canova was established in the first place.
In the immediate vicinity of the main building you will find seating in the shade, hammocks and lush green meadows – but also an inviting children’s playground. Relaxation for every age and every mood. Experience the fascination of Mother Nature!
